Refund & Returns Policy

We offer a 12 month warranty period on all PLAYMAX products

1. Applicability
This policy applies to all purchases made via www.Playmax.co.nz for products sold for personal, domestic or household use.
It is subject to the guarantees in the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). Consumer Protection+2New Zealand Legislation+2

2. Your rights under the CGA

  • Products must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and match their description or sample. Consumer Protection+1

  • If a product fails to meet those guarantees, you are entitled to a remedy such as a repair, replacement or refund. Commerce Commission+1

  • The business cannot contract out of the CGA or refuse all refunds for faults. Consumer NZ+1

3. When we will provide a refund, replacement or repair
We will provide a full refund, replacement or repair when a product:

  • Has a major fault (for example: unsafe, significantly different from description, cannot be made fit for purpose). Consumer NZ+1

  • Is faulty or not of acceptable quality and cannot be satisfactorily repaired within a reasonable time.

  • Is in the 12 month warranty period

For minor faults, we may choose to repair, replace or refund, depending on what is reasonable and what you prefer.

4. Change of mind returns
If you simply change your mind about a purchase (i.e., the product is not faulty, you just decide you don’t want it), we are not required by law to provide a refund. Consumer NZ

5. How to make a faulty return
To request a return or refund:

  • Make sure your purchase was in the last 12 months
  • Contact us at info@playmax.co.nz with your order number, date of purchase and details of the issue.
  • If approved, you must send the item back to our returns address: 19A Arrenway Drive Albany For faulty items, we will cover the reasonable cost of return shipping.

6. Refund processing

  • Once we receive and inspect the returned product, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund/exchange.

  • If approved, the refund will be processed and a credit will be applied to your original payment method within 7-10 business days

  • If you receive a replacement, it will be shipped as soon as possible.

7. Exclusions & conditions
We may refuse a refund, replacement or repair if:

  • You were made aware of the fault before purchase.

  • You purchased the product more than 12 months before

  • The product was purchased for business/commercial use and the CGA rights do not apply. Consumer Protection+1

8. Shipping & handling costs

  • Shipping costs paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable, unless the product is faulty or we supplied the wrong product.

  • For a valid refund, you will be refunded the purchase price of the item, but not necessarily original shipping costs unless required by law or our discretion.

  • If we refund the item but you had paid extra for expedited shipping, we may reimburse that portion if the fault or error was ours.

9. Timeframes

  • Faulty items: please notify us as soon as possible. What constitutes a “reasonable time” depends on the product and circumstances. LegalVision New Zealand+1

10. Other rights & legal obligations
This policy does not affect any statutory rights you may have under the CGA or other consumer protection laws. If there is an irreconcilable conflict between this policy and the CGA, the CGA prevails. Business.govt.nz+1
